Charlie Schmitt, a partner and trial lawyer, concentrates on landslide litigation, common homeowners liability, construction defect litigation, and products liability. He represents manufacturers, large construction developers, small construction subcontractors and individual homeowners. He continues to handle a wide variety of litigation throughout the greater Southern California area.

His successes for clients include defense trial verdicts in civil assault and battery cases, product liability actions, as well as defense verdicts for common carriers. He has experience in mediation of multi-party, multi-insurance carrier litigation.

Mr. Schmitt joined the State Bar of California in 1994 and Ford, Walker, Haggerty & Behar the following year. He is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth District, and the United States District Court, Central District. His professional memberships include the American Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Schmitt received his J.D. in 1994 from Southwestern University School of Law and his B.A. in political science in 1990 from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

A Long Beach native with a long-standing family history in the Long Beach community, Mr. Schmitt, his wife Shelby, and their children Andrew, Kevin, and Erin now live in Cypress.
