Jim Miller, an associate with the firm, concentrates primarily on legal research and law and motion matters, participating in cases from the demurrer stage through argument before the Court of Appeal. He represents insurance companies and self-insured corporations and individual assureds.

Mr. Miller was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1991 and to practice before the state courts of California and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.

He received his J.D. in the two-year SCALE program at Southwestern University School of Law in 1991, earning American Jurisprudence Awards in Constitutional and Administrative Law. He became associated with Ford, Walker, Haggerty & Behar that same year. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1971 and a teaching credential from USC in 1973, after which time he served as a high school teacher in Torrance, California until 1989.

Born in New York City, Mr. Miller resides in Torrance with his wife Gloria. He is an avid golfer and sailor, having sailed from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Redondo Beach, and to Kauai in the Hawaiian islands and back.
