Jon A. Hammerbeck, a partner with Ford, Walker, Haggerty and Behar, is a 20 year trial lawyer and mediator whose practice involves construction defect, insurance, personal injury and real estate matters. His trial practice involves defense of developer, general contractors and insurance companies in the handling of construction defect and mold remediation cases. He recently served as a panel member at seminars on current trends in mold litigation at the January 10, 2002 Associated Southern California Defense Counsel Conference, March, 2002 Combined Claims Conference and January, 2003 Beverly Hills Bar Association meeting.

In addition to his considerable trial experience, Mr. Hammerbeck has substantial appellate experience, including 5 cases which resulted in a published opinion.

Serving as a mediator and arbitrator is an important part of his law practice. His past and ongoing mediation practice includes construction, personal injury, malpractice, employment, insurance and real estate matters. He is a member of several arbitration panels, including that of a large HMO. He is a member of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Hammerbeck has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1981, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Courts, Central and Southern Districts. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Construction and Insurance sections.

He obtained his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law in 1981. He obtained in B.A. in Psychology (Honors) from the University of California, San Diego, in 1977, and graduated magna cum laude.

Mr. Hammerbeck continues to serve the legal community by volunteering for the Orange County Superior Court in the pro tem program, and in assisting veterans in claims before the VA. He resides in Laguna Niguel with his wife, Joy, and their two children, Jill and Mark.
