Timothy P. McDonald



Timothy P. McDonald is a partner and has been with the firm since its inception in 1991. Prior to that, Mr. McDonald practiced at Shield & Smith. He is a trial lawyer who focuses on all types of automobile and homeowner claims. He also handles construction defect, insurance bad faith and premises liability cases. He represents insurance companies and self-insureds in California and nationally.  Mr. McDonald has completed more than 60 jury trials in California courts and has arbitrated or mediated more than 1,000 cases.  Recent cases have included defense verdicts in both Sacramento and San Diego, as well as two favorable verdicts in two cases in San Diego that both involved neck surgery.  Mr. McDonald is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.  He was born in New Jersey and resides in San Pedro with his wife, Elizabeth.  Their two sons graduated from UC Santa Cruz and UC Santa Barbara, while their daughter currently attends UCI.
