Stephen W. Moore is a partner and trial attorney who practices in the area of automobile and common carrier liability, products liability, premises liability and homeowners' losses. His areas of specialization include claims involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, brain injuries and products liability claims involving automobile and marine products. He represents insurance companies and self-insureds nationwide.

Mr. Moore has tried numerous cases to verdict in California Superior and Municipal Courts and has arbitrated more than 400 cases. Many of the cases handled by Mr. Moore involve significant exposure with complex medical and technical issues. Throughout his career, Mr. Moore has become very knowledgeable in medical terminology and has a keen mechanical aptitude. Additionally, Mr. Moore has extensive mediation experience. Associated with Ford, Walker, Haggerty & Behar since its founding in 1991, he began his career at its predecessor firm, Shield & Smith.

Mr. Moore joined the State Bar of California in 1989 and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court, Central District and all California state courts. His professional memberships include the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, Orange County Bar Association and the Long Beach Bar Association. Mr. Moore has also served as a judge pro tem in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

He earned his J.D. in 1988 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. While there he was elected to the Board of Governors of the Center for Legal Studies, a student-run law clinic. He was also a finalist in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition and was elected to the International Moot Court Honors Board. Mr. Moore obtained a paralegal certificate in 1984 from UCLA Extension. He received his B.A. in international relations with special emphasis on Latin American studies from USC in 1984.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised in Pacific Palisades, Mr. Moore currently resides in Huntington Beach. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Moore enjoys travel, surfing, fishing, snowboarding and mountain biking.
