Ms. Bevins is a senior counsel in the Long Beach office. She has extensive jury trial experience taking cases to verdict in such areas as medical and dental negligence, employment, sexual harassment, premise liability, auto liability, breach of contract and fraud. Ms. Bevins has also arbitrated and mediated numerous cases to successful conclusion.
Ms. Bevins has substantial litigation experience in medical and dental malpractice; as well as in employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, workers’ compensation, class actions and wage and hour claims. She has defended business owners, homeowners, homeowners’ associations, apartment owners and apartment managers involving claims of discrimination, retaliation and violations of statute under the Fair Housing laws, habitability issues and claimed violations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, 17200 claims, as well as injury and property damage claims occurring on real property.
Ms. Bevins has also successfully represented governmental and public agencies, including cities and counties in litigation cases. She has defended public non-profit corporations involved in litigation, including aquatic sports teams. She has a strong background defending SIU and fraud cases, as well as representing numerous medical practitioners.
She has represented client’s interests in both federal and state courts in diverse areas of civil litigation including, professional negligence, business, insurance, environmental, real estate, construction, as well as those listed in the practice areas above.
Ms. Bevins attended San Diego State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. Ms. Bevins studied law at Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, CA and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. She is admitted to practice in all United States District Courts of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Bevins was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. Before and while attending law school she competed as a professional triathlete and was employed by the State of California as a San Diego Coast supervisor working extensively with emergency response, law enforcement and fire agencies. While at San Diego State, she was the recipient of student athlete academic awards in Division I women’s swimming. She has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Orange County Hispanic Bar Association. She is currently a member of the Orange County Bar Association and has served as a judge pro tem with the Orange County Superior Court personal injury and business panels including the Mandatory Settlement Conference program.
Ms. Bevins and her family are very active in aquatics, the beachside and local communities. She has devoted a significant amount of time to community projects, business development, professional activities, pro bono, community and charitable activities. Her litigation experience coupled with her broad personal experiences add to her diversity.
