Attorney Renee Jensen recently won an appeal in the Second Appellate District in a published decision. The trial court granted a writ of mandate invalidating a contract between the County of Los Angeles and a private business on the basis that the lack of competitive bidding constituted an abuse of discretion. The Appellate Court reversed finding that an exception applied and directing the trial court to enter judgment in the County’s favor. See Weinstein and AIDS Healthcare Foundation v. County of Los Angeles, 237 Cal.App.4th 944; 188 Cal.Rptr. 3d 557 (2015).
